A new $33 million shopping centre opens in Baringa town centre in Caloundra South, on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. The developer is Stockland.
The shopping precinct is situated in the centre of Aura, billed as the biggest master-planned community under one ownership in Australia, and currently home to more than 3000 inhabitants.
Stockland’s regional director for the Sunshine Coast, Adrian Allen, said: “The accession of the first city centre at Aura shows the value of Stockland’s diversified enterprise”.
It’s expected to provide 90 new jobs.
Sustainability has been at the forefront of this evolution, together with Stockland committing to a 5 Star Green Star As Built evaluation for the new city centre, in addition to investing $640,000 in a 370KW rooftop solar project.
The two new stores situated at Oakleigh South and Coolaroo take Kaufland’s shop count in Victoria to five.
The nine proposed sites, to be reviewed by an independent panel, including both regional and metropolitan cities throughout eastern and western Victoria.
